Rays' Pitchers & Catchers: Day 2 in Pt Charlotte

Some pictures from Day 2, another Chamber of Commerce sunny day in Pt Charlotte. Probably less than 100 fans in attendance and I only saw one TV camera.

The Architect.
First time I have seen Andrew in short sleeves this early in Spring Training.
George Hendrick at his best, he is a highlight of Spring Training for me every year.

Hellickson put this sleeve on after throwing his bullpen session, then had to leave later with a "high leg" injury.

Not sure what to say about Davey Martinez' beard, other than "I hope it is for a cause."
Coach Jim Hoff, one of the unsung heroes, and one of the best I have seen working with the younger guys.

The excitement of Spring Training is not always evident on the faces of the players.

Joe Maddon's advice to Jaso today was to always preface any comment with, "I read somewhere..." because it makes whatever you say sound more inteilligent.  Busted.

Jaso had a great BP session, putting a hurting on the RF fence and trees beyond with line drive after line drive, probably ruining the confidence of pitcher Scott Cursi.

Scott will probably be spending another year as bullpen catcher rather than replacing Matt Garza.
Adam Russell is a big and intimidating guy, so good to see the softer side of him after drills were over.
Looks as though the player likenesses are gone from the replacement RF pavillion screen.

"I read somewhere..."
